The Devonshire Dumpling lies with 200 yards of the Two
Moors way a well used track for those walking from the South Coast at
Ivybridge to the North Coast at Lynmouth via Dartmoor and Exmoor.
The Village of Morchard Road also has Ellicombe Lake
a local fishing lake well stocked with fish and a pair of black swans.
We can arrange day or week tickets for you. It is 300 yards from the
Pub. Current cost is £5 per day.
Within half a mile there’s Waterbridge
Golf Course.
This 9 hole course is very popular and challenging. There a number of
other courses with 10 miles: Downes
Crediton and Chulmleigh.
Morchard Road
also boasts one of the few request stop railway stations on the Tarka
Line running from Exmouth in the south to Barnstaple in the North. The
train only stops if you put your hand out!
The Devonshire Dumpling is
part of the Ale trail and an ideal base for those wishing to complete
the trail.
